12 Strong Trailer: Chris Hemsworth Starring in War Drama

Is It, just another movie boasting about American Army?

Warner Brothers released the second trailer for the 12 strong, starring Chris Hemsworth in the titular role. Chris Hemsworth is currently soaring high after the humongous success of Thor Ragnarok and studio will try to cash in on that, by keeping him as the face of the movie. He has done a bunch of movies, but apart from the Marvel franchise none of them have been able to do good business at box office window. This is the chance for him, to do tremendous work and make a good addition to his resume.

12 Strong is based on the bestselling non-fiction novel by Doug Stanton and the cast includes promising faces namely Michael Shannon, Michael Pena, and William Fichtner in supporting role. The movie revolves around the true story of how a group CIA paramilitary officers and U.S. special forces are sent down to hunt for the Taliban after the 9/11 attacks. The unique point of the story is that these 12 soldiers fought against hundreds of Taliban while riding on the horse’s back. The trailer starts with the glimpse of 9/11 and then some patriotic dialogues to build on the emotions. Then we cut to the scene where we see that the team is all prepared to fight the Taliban under the leadership of Chris Hemsworth. After seeing the whole trailer, I don’t have many hopes for the movie as it looks like another Hollywood movie trying to boast about the American army with nothing new to offer from the story point of view. But I would be really happy if the movie proves me completely wrong and delivers something unique like Black Hawk Down.

The movie is directed by Nicolai Fuglsig and renowned filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer as the film’s producer, the movie releases in theaters on January 18, 2018.
