2019 iPhones will Not have Under-Display Fingerprint sensors says, Ming-Chi Kuo.
The tech giant Apple is all set to launch the new 2018 iPhones on 12 September as the company has already sent the media invites for the launch event at the Apple’s park. The rumours are for years that the Apple is working on the Under Display fingerprint sensor but it did come up with the FaceID system on the iPhone X and the 2018 iPhones will also be equipped with the same system. However, it seems the 2019 iPhones will also not feature the under display fingerprint sensors.
The renowned Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his connections with the supply chain of manufacturers, shared a portion of predictions about Apple’s plans. According to the analyst, Apple is not going to introduce screen fingerprint scanners into the future iPhone and will go with the FaceID system.
Ming-Chi Kuo said, “All main Android brands currently treat FOD as the important function to differentiate themselves from iPhone (we expect 2H19 iPhone models will not support FOD). The reasons are as follows: (1) The user feedback on the iPhone is lower than expected. (2) The user feedback on the first FOD smartphone, Vivo’s X21 FOD version, is higher than expected, and (3) FOD is the best fingerprint recognition solution for the full-screen design which is necessary for a high-end smartphone.”
Talking about the iphones coming next week, this year the Apple is rumoured to debut three iPhones with different size displays and new chipsets. One of the three iPhones to launch is also said to feature Dual-sim support and faster wireless charging speeds, the things for which the fans are crying for years.
