Discovery Jeet got launched today, marking the new beginning in Indian television as portrayed during the marketing efforts. The channel has brought an excellent catalog of TV shows which cover various genres. The two of these series are based on the actual events, one being Baba Ramdev’s life story and other Battle of Saragarhi. The expectations from both of them are quite high as these shows have potential to change the Indian TV entertainment as we know of it.
The show 21 Sarfrosh: Saragarhi 1897 is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. It stars renowned actors like Mohit Raina, Luke Kenny & Mukul Dev who have proved their mettle on big & small screen. The story revolves around the 36 Sikh Regiment who fought against 10000 Pashtun & Orkzai Tribals to protect Indian borders. Those three hundred soldiers not only saved us but also defeated them. The story is set in the year 1897 on the India – Afghanistan border in the backdrop of beautiful hills. It will also focus on the relationship which Sikh regiment had with British army along with the backstory of the main character of Irshan Singh portrayed by Mohit Raina.
The first episode was broadcasted today which had its fair bit of highs and lows. There is a weakness in the dialogue and direction section. In a series based on war, dialogues play a considerable role however here they seem poorly written especially the ones spoken by British army men. The cinematography in few scenes is awe-inspiring, and that could help in building the interest of the audience. In slightly weak first episode Mohit Raina steals the show with his enigmatic and compelling portrayal of Sikh. Here we want to especially add that Mukul Dev’s performance as the antagonist is stellar one and he will give a tough time to other characters.
From acting perspective supporting cast has done a commendable work. However, it is too early to give a verdict on this series and soon it can improve on the mistakes committed in the first episode.
Each episode will be around 25 min and broadcasted daily at 9 pm. We hope that as series progresses, it works on the flaws and give Indian audience a show to cherish for a long time.
Next, we will update you on the mid-season review of the series, till then keep reading and enjoy.
