‘PADMAN’ A True Superhero from India!!
Akshay Kumar is back with another great movie this time with highly acclaimed director R.Balki in ‘PADMAN’. The trailer was released for the film and is purely heartwarming. In recent years Akshay Kumar has focused on the movies which try to highlight some social cause in a light-hearted way. His last movie ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ attempted to bring home the importance of toilets in rural areas through the subtle story. However, the box-office performance was not that great because it lacked in few places. Whereas, with R.Balki at the helm of Padman we can expect a great movie.
The story of ‘Padman’ revolves around a man from a small village who after seeing his wife suffering from side effects of menstruation like menstrual bleeding. And to prevent these side effects she cannot use sanitary pads because of its high cost. So, he takes charge of the situation and embarks on a mission to make sanitary pads affordable. Even after being ill-treated by his family and others in the society, he tries to work on a thing which is considered a taboo in Indian society. As the story unravels to show his perseverance and how he succeeds. After his success, he is asked to deliver lectures in prestigious institutes on his contribution, that changed the life of millions of women throughout the country. Also, love for his wife will act as the main inspiration for Akshay’s character.
The trailer shows quite a beautiful glimpse of a movie which will be comedic with drama sprinkled over it. Akshay looks brilliant in the trailer and adds charm to it.
The star cast is the strong one with actors like Radhika Apte. R. Balki has earlier also worked on subjects which are out of the league from commercial cinema like Paa, Piku, etc. & delivered some beautiful stories. It will be interesting to see his take on a movie based on a social cause & a topic from which Indian society shies away.
