Amazon Prime Video confirms Mirzapur Season 2 release

Mirzapur Season 2

Amazon Prime Video hit out of the park last year with its highly popular series Mirzapur. The series starring Pankaj Tripathi, Divyendu Sharma and Ali Fazal garnered rave reviews. The story of the first season revolved around two brothers Guddu and Bablu as they set on the path of crime with Kaleen Bhaiya at the end of it. The series came out of nowhere and became a goof response to Netflix’s already successful Sacred Games. The creators of the show handsomely used the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh in the series, which made it quite popular amongst the youth. Following the success of Mirzapur many other digital platforms tried to cash in on the gangster drama concept however every one of them failed miserably.

The fans are highly anticipating the Mirzapur season 2 as first season left them on the edge. We are excited to see what turns the story takes in the season 2 and will Guddu be able to take revenge of his brother’s death. The season 2 was confirmed little while back by actor Ali Fazal during an interview. The streaming giant has now also confirmed the release of Mirzapur Season 2, but no official date has been finalized yet.

Mirzapur Season 2

Mirzapur, which premiered worldwide on November 16, 2018, has been greenlit for a second season. This riveting drama series tells the journey of two brothers lured by the idea of power only to be consumed by it. Mirzapur is an amped-up portrayal of India’s heartland and youth — a world replete with drugs, guns, and lawlessness, where caste, power, egos and tempers intersect and violence is the only way of life. Season two, produced by the makers of the international Emmy-nominated series Inside Edge, created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh will depict the story of this violent world which, when coupled with greed for power, changes people and asks for sacrifices. The show will go into production in 2019 before being released on Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
