With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp is around the corner, we officially had nothing concrete information about the film’s villain – The Ghost. But recently, the film’s executive producer told that Ghost will be retaining its original powers which were in the comics.
Fans already have seen action-packed sequences of Ant-Man and the Wasp, but the trailer shows a teeny little bit of the villain our heroes have to fight. Even we have just glimpses of what is Ghost capable of in the trailer. While the marketing team didn’t give away much of information about the Ghost in the trailer as we had in the Ant-Man. But recently we got to know that the powers of the Ghost are same as the comics, even her looks are same as in the animated series of the Ghost.
Film’s executive producer Stephen Broussard revealed a little bit about what audiences can expect from Ghost – including her abilities.
“The power set is the same, and the look is pretty classic, you know, not reinterpretation, but like modernization, I think. Our visual design team…does a great job I think of sticking to the classic tropes that made these — what they looked like in the books. Going ‘Huh, that’s a pretty good realisation of what that might look like in the real world’ and certainly, that’s the case with Ghost. When you think of her, you think of the hood. You think of the white suit and everything like that and Hannah wears it very well. She’s awesome. She’s badass.”
While this an excellent spoiler for the fans but the MCU has taken its approach different with the Ghost adapting a character as it is from the comics hasn’t been the MCU’s way of dealing with new characters. But still, we may get to see if the villain has been wholly adopted or there are some changes.
In the original comics, the Ghost is a hacker taking down big corporations. Though we never got to see who is the character in the comics, she has been a potent adversary of Iron Man. But in the film, we are going to see her going toe to toe with Ant-Man and the Wasp, whose size-changing powers pair well with Ghosts powers. She can slip through objects, become intangible. Also, her suits allow becoming invisible which is another offensive power the heroes of the film have to deal with. It’s not sure of the hacker part is carried over to the film, but we’ll see that real soon.
