Kendrick Lamar’s music just made Black Panther more ferocious!!
A few weeks back we wrote an article discussing how the music of Marvel movies never stood out. It was so generic that even the biggest of fans of this franchise don’t remember a single tune from ensemble 17 movies. However, music directors of Thor Ragnarok noticed this and corrected it by giving us a memorable background score.
In Thor Ragnarok, each scene is associated with particular music which makes the movie more entertaining. Black Panther is also following the same path as they got Kendrick Lamar to produce and curate music for the upcoming album.
Black Panther is already packed with a stellar cast which has names like Chadwick Boseman, Michael B Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, etc. in the significant roles. Now with the renowned musician at the helm of the album will add more punch to the movie. Kendrick Lamar will team up with Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith to work on the album. The album will focus on the music from and inspired by the movie.
Ryan Coogler, the director of the movie, had the idea to bring Lamar for the project as he said in the statement “I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store.”
Seven-time Grammy winner musician in an interview added ” “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”
We are excited after listening to this fantastic news and can’t wait to see how well the magic of Lamar blends in with the Ryan Coogler’s creation. However, till the movie hits the theater on February 16, 2018, you can enjoy one song from the released by Lamar.
