In the latest installement of the Black Ops series, Treyarch decided to obliterate campaign mode and replaced it with a new battle royale mode, Blackout.

Now, from the Kotaku’s report, it appears that campaign mode is returning in Black Ops 5. Treyarch will incorporate some of Raven and Sledgehammer’s original work to transform their title’s campaign mode into campaign mode for Black Ops 5.

Raven and Sledgehammer were originally developing a campaign which takes place during the cold war. According to the sources, this setting will continue to be used for the campaign.

Despite massive success in early stages of Black Ops 4, Activision didn’t find the game’s revenue figures that much what they were expecting.

Activision executives are now considering implementing a free to play revenue model for Call of Duty titles. The company is likely to offer some free content to play in COD MW4.
