Castlevania is based on the 1989 Japanese video game Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse by the video game company Konami.

As the Castlevania series has it’s roots in Japanese media, it was a good hit with anime fans and is a recommendation from our side for people who enjoy more mature and action oriented anime series.

The Castlevania animated series was originally planned as a film. It seems that the animated show has gained quite a bit of fandom as even anime fans are enjoying the show. Netflix has already started production work on Castlevania Season 3.
