How to change Aadhaar card details online
Updating Aadhaar details online is pretty easy. Just log in to Aadhaar self-service portal and follow further steps given below;
Step 1: Open your browser and go to uidai.gov.in website.
Step 2: Now under the Aadhaar Update section click on Address Update Request ( online). Clicking on this will lead you to portal of Aadhaar Self Service.
Step 3: Now here you have to enter your UID(Unique Identity Number) which is of 12 digit and that will be present on your Aadhaar card. After entering the Number click on Send OTP option.
Step 4 : An OTP (one-time-password) will be received on your Mobile number (Number linked with your Aadhar card). If you don’t receive OTP within 2 minutes, tap on the re-send OTP to receive it again.
Step 5: Now enter the received OTP in the required field and Tap on Login Button.
Step 6: On the next page, tick the Address option and then click on ‘Submit‘ button.
Step 7: Now will you land on the page of ‘Data Update Request’ where you can Change your demographic details such as (house and street No., Your Area pin code, district or whatever you want to change.)

Step 8: Now after filling or changing all the details Correctly click on the ‘Submit Update Request’ button/option.
Step 9: Now for these changes you have to upload the original scanned copy of documents for proper verification.
Step 10: Now select the documents which you want as proof of Address ( like your vehicle registration certificate, electricity bill etc.)
Step 11: Now after uploading all the necessary documents and submitting the form, an URN (Update Request Number) will be generated which can be used later to check the status of your request to change the details.
Updating or correction Aadhaar card details via Post
You can also update your Aadhaar card details through postal service. To update your Aadhaar details via Post all you need to is to download the form online , fill it and send it to the UIDAI department. Follow these steps to update it by post:
Step 1: Open your browser ,Go to UIDAI website and click on ‘Address Update Request (By Post) option.
Step 2: By clicking on the link a Page to Download the PDF form will appear. Download it.
Step 3: In the form on the top an box Update/ correction will be present , tick it. Now fill the other details asked in the form including your 12 digit UID number.
NOTE : It’s mandatory to provide your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Now fill all the necessary details required to change details and we do recommend you to read the given guidelines there Carefully before filling the details.
Step 5: Now after filling the form and taking print out attach the necessary documents required containing your name and address proof ( like Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, Ration card etc)
Step 6: After attaching all the necessary required documents ,mail the form to following address via post: UIDAI, Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad-500034, India.
Step 7: Once your form is received by UIDAI , you will receive and update request SMS on your registered mobile number.
However you can beside online and offline mode, you can also visit Aadhar Enrolment centre, if it is near you. Where You can easily update or change demographic and biometric details by consulting with the authorised person there.
