Chris Evans to Work with Director Neill Blomkamp for Thriller ‘Greenland’

Chris Evans popularly known as Captain America around the globe had a very limited appearance in the Avengers Infinity War. His character was dialed down, and fans, especially of Captain America, didn’t like it that much. As per the writers, we will get to see a whole lot of him in action in Avengers 4 coming may next year. And alongside this, the character of Captain America will go through an arc that will leave the fans amazed assured by Russo Brothers. Meanwhile, Chris Evans is lining up a starring role of a different sort. The actor will be teaming up with filmmaker Neill Blomkamp known for movies District 9 and Elysium for a disaster thriller titled Greenland.

The plot of the movie is under wraps however as per the reports the story revolves around a family and their fight for survival as the world comes to an end. In all his movies till date, Neill Blomkamp has developed a story that takes place in a post-apocalyptic future with social issues embroiled in it. His last two movies didn’t do well at the box office, and he failed to live up to the expectations created by his debut feature film District 9.

The reason District 9 was more successful than his other two films was that being a Sci-Fi movie which included alien invasion it was able to highlight the social issues profoundly. The movie became one of the classics without any big hero attached to it. However, after this movie, Neill Blomkamp hit a rough patch as his next movie, Elysium starring Matt Damon in the titular role was a mediocre success. And then came Chappie a disappointing robot movie that took his direction to another low.

Now, Greenland will be his redemption as he will try to live up to the promise of District 9. With the actor like Chris Evans attached to the movie, there are high hopes for this one. Alongside this, we will get to see Evans in The Red Sea Diving Resort a historical thriller which he most recently wrapped. It will be interesting to see how these two good artists weave magic on the screen with Greenland. What are your views on the movie and which of the Neill Blomkamp’s film you like the most?
