Along with other top-notch companies, Dell is also in the game of showing the latest products at the CES 2019 event. And at the event, Dell launched its next flagship gaming laptop names Dell Alienware Area-51m. The laptop comes with a lot of unique features and company says it is a true desktop replacement, as the gaming laptop comes with a modular design, which allows upgrading of the laptop in many aspects. Technically, the laptop can be upgraded like desktop PCs, as you can stay upgraded to the latest CPU and GPU without buying a whole new laptop.
Alienware Area-51m specifications
Talking about the specifications of the new Dell Alienware Area-51m, the gaming laptop features a desktop-class Intel 9th generation CPUs, which ranges from a Core i7-8700 up to a Core i9-9900K, which is an eight-core CPU. And as you might have seen in the desktops, the laptop comes with socketed Intel Z390 motherboard, so that it can be upgraded easily. Also, for upgrading RAM of the device, a total of 4 slots are provided which can carry a total of 64GB of DDR4 memory. Also, single, dual and triple storage configurations ranging from hybrid drives, PCIe M.2 SSDs to even a bunch of them in RAID 0 configurations.
Other than this, the Alienware Area-51m comes with a full-HD resolution IPS display with a size of 17.3 inches which is embedded in a narrow bezel chassis, where no other display option is available, for now, but other options are available where user can choose among standard 60Hz panel, which comes with Nvidia G-Sync, a 144Hz panel and Tobii Eye Tracking or the ultimate combo, which includes a 144Hz panel, Tobii Eye Tracking and Nvidia G-Sync.
Another exciting thing about the new Alienware Area-51m is the desktop-class Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards, where you will get the options, whether you want to buy the GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB GDDR6 RAM, or the GeForce RTX 2080 with 8GB of GDDR6 RAM.
The new upgradable chassis of the new Alienware Area-51m gaming laptop weighs 3.87kg. Additionally, the device comes with HD webcam with dual-array mics and stereo speakers, customizable lightings at many places, Cryo-Tech 2.0 technology for better cooling and the company’s TactX keyboard with 2.2mm of travel and pre-key RGB backlighting supported by a 90WHr battery.
For connectivity, the new Alienware Area-51m comes with three USB 3.1 ports (Type-A), a Thunderbolt 3 port (Type-C), HDMI 2.0, Mini-DisplayPort 1.4, headphone and microphone sockets, Gigabit Ethernet, and an Alienware Graphics Amplifier port.
Dell has announced Alienware Area-51m in two attractive colours — Lunar Light and Dark Side of the Moon — which will be available for sale starting 29th January onwards. Where the device can be owned with a starting price of $2,549 (roughly Rs. 1,77,000).
