Dwayne Johnson is the one star in Hollywood who has done it all to reach the stardom level. He has carved his place in the hearts of the audience with his hard work and passion for acting. In the current scenario no matter what movie he is associated with be it pure action or adventure movie, it has only worked wonders and has broken many records. Similarly, he was brought in on the Fast and Furious franchise to add more firepower to the story because of the cold response received by the fourth installment. He along with Vin Diesel brought back the series from little downtime, and since then Johnson has become a member of the family.
As we all know, Fast and Furious is all about high octane action and family comes above all. However, the scene on the real side of it is pretty different. The two main heroes of the franchise Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel are not on talking terms after the last Fast and Furious release. The feud brewed up during the shooting of Fast and Furious 8 because of the difference in the visions of both the actors and how they approach filmmaking. Currently while promoting his upcoming movie Rampage, Dwayne Johnson in an interview with Rolling Stones added that
“Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer, and what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.”
The rumors were also doing round that both of the actors didn’t even shoot their scenes together however this was laid to rest by Johnson by adding
“That is correct. We were not in any scenes together.”
This at least confirms that things are not right between the two actors and it may also affect the upcoming movie in the franchise as Johnson raised his doubts on starring in the next one. As in he also added
“I’m not quite sure. Right now I’m concentrating on making the spinoff [Hobbs and Shaw] as good as it can be, but I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have…You can erase that last part about ‘no ill will.’ We’ll keep it with the clarity.”
Without Dwayne Johnson’s presence family surely will feel incomplete and a chunk of entertainment will be missing from the story. However, we will have to wait and watch what Fast and Furious 9 has in store for us. If you want to see Johnson kicking some badasses and can’t wait for Fast and Furious, you can catch him in theatres on 11 April as is joins hand with a Gorilla in Rampage.
