The Game of Thrones Season 8 final battle is going to be bigger than the Helm’s Deep in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Yes, you read it right. The GOT season 8 final battle will not be just the biggest battle in the history of TV shows but in the whole entertainment category.
GOT Season 8 Final Battle-bigger than Helm’s Deep in LOTR
A recent story by EW regarding Game of Thrones Season 8 talks about the final battle of Season 8 directed by Miguel Sapochnik. He was the one who directed the ‘Hardhome’ and ‘The Battle of Bastards’ earlier in the show. According to the story, he looked for a battle which was the biggest battle in the history of entertainment. He found the Helm’s Deep from LOTR which took 40 minutes of the whole movie.
Sapochnik expressed his feelings while watching the battle. He said, “It feels like the only way to really approach it properly is take every sequence and ask yourself: ‘Why would I care to keep watching?’ One thing I found is the less action — the less fighting — you can have in a sequence, the better.”
Another challenge he faced while thinking about the final battle was the decision of focussing at which character at which point. To that, he said, “The [GoT battles] I’ve done previously were generally from Jon’s perspective. Here I’ve got 20-some cast members and everyone would like it to be their scene. That’s complicated because I find the best battle sequences are when you have a strong point of view. I keep thinking: ‘Whose story am I telling right now?’”
It is confirmed that the final battle of Game of Thrones Season 8 is going to be crazy and interesting to watch. What are your thoughts about the GOT Season 8 final battle? How will Sapochnik make this battle the biggest one in history? Comment down your thoughts in the comment section below.
