The updates shared by Gunn undoubtedly increase our anticipation regarding the Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 as after the incidents of Avengers Infinity War we are not left with much of Guardians with only Rocket alive. We are waiting to see which characters return to the franchise and are there any new faces. Along with discussing movie’s progress on the Twitter director also took on the Facebook to share an image of him working on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 script. As he shared the post with the text reading “Writing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 right now.”
Gunn while answering the question asked by a fan who asked whether Venom will appear in the film to take over Groot, he said that “We don’t own Venom,” however he did tease that movie will include new faces by saying “I can add anyone Marvel owns, but I’ve already chosen the characters…” The director also added that he is into the development of the film for more than a year now and scripts are far along. Along with this, he wrote in another post that “For many many months I first write the treatment which is 80 pages or so with photographs. That turns into GotG – I’m now rewriting and making sure my rough draft works.”
Few fans also asked him about the impact of Disney-Fox merger if it goes through successfully. He simply added that there are no chances of us seeing any mutant character being brought into the action soon enough. “Not gonna happen in any major way,” Gunn responded. “Too far along.” Finally, he revealed that there will be major changes in the Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 which might be the impact of what happened with Thanos in Infinity War. Gunn said that “It’s very, very, very different, but I won’t say how! You’ll have to wait to see the movie, it’s a long time away.”
The Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to release in the year 2020.
