Honor unveiled the Honor 9i (2018) in China last month as the upgrade of the Honor 9i that was launched in India in October last year and now they are prepping to launch the rebranded version of the phone, Honor 9X in India. The company has scheduled a launch event in India on 24th July and has already sent out media invites for the same. The invite reads #NOORDINARYBEAUTY in Blue and Purple colors that suggest that the smartphone may have different colors.
Since Honor 9X is a rebranded version of Honor 9i (2018), it will carry the same specs. So we can say that, the phone will be powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC running on top of EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone will feature 5.84-inch, 19:9, Full HD+ IPS panel with a notch up top. It will come in three variants: 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. On the camera front, it will have a dual camera setup. A 13 megapixel primary sensor coupled with 2 megapixel secondary sensor for depth sensing. A 3,000mAh battery will be powering the phone. To keep the phone connected it will have support for 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack as well as FM Radio. The phone is expected to come in Black, Blue, Green and Purple colors. Apart from all these specs, it is also expected to come with Huawei’s own GPU Turbo Technology, which is a hardware-software integration that the company claims can deliver faster performance while reducing power consumption.
On the design front there is nothing much new here. It looks quite similar to its predecessor. Its just that it has a full screen display with a notch.
