Google launched a new feature in its geo-browsing service, Google Earth, which was launched back in 2014 for Android along with other OS platforms like Windows, Mac OS via Chrome. With the Google Earth, a user can easily explore any region in both 2D or the 3D street view, thanks to the satellite imagery which creates a 3D dimensional view of the Earth. And now Google is adding an all-new feature to the Google Earth, it’s the new Google Earth Measure Tool. Here, we will tell you how to measure distance with Google Earth Measure Tool.
You may get a little idea about the new Measure Tool, but let us tell you about the features of the new tool and how to use it.
Talking about the new Measure Tool, it’s not an all-new feature for the Chrome or Windows version of the Google Earth, but earlier it can only be found in the deeper settings and was not easy to discover. With this tool, a user can measure the distance between the cities, or distance between countries, it’s an easy task. All you have to do is set points on your own. So, you can try this before starting your long drive, just to get a little idea. And not only this, if you want to measure a distance via any other point, it can be done easily with the Google Earth Measure Tool.
This is not the only thing, that can be done with the new tool. You can also measure the perimeter and area easily, and all you have to do it set the points around the place. And the new tool can be used for education purpose. A student now can have a look for the Himalayas as well as measure the area covered by the mountains. For now, the tool can be used on Android using the app and on Chrome only, with iOS support coming soon.
