In the latest news, the Huawei Nova 3, along with Huawei Nova 3i, will launch in India on July 26. The news comes just days after Huawei announced Nova 3 in China. The Nova 3i hasn’t been announced there yet, but the date is coming closer. Both the phones will be Amazon exclusives.

Specs

The Huawei Nova 3 features a 6.3 inch with a Full HD+ resolution (2340×1080). The phone’s display has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a notch cut out. The notch is quite small, like the OnePlus 6, and isn’t obtrusive. The Nova 3 also features a Kirin 970 chipset, Huawei’s own chipset. The chip combines high processing powers with AI specific computing. Not just that, the chipset also has a 4+4 processing set, with 4 high powered Cortex A73 cores and 4 low powered Cortex A53 cores.

Coming to the Nova 3 quad cameras, the dual rear cameras are just like those on the Honor 10. There is a 16MP main sensor and also a 24MP monochrome sensor. The combination results in enhanced low light photography results and an accurate Bokeh effect. On the front, there is another dual camera setup. The main sensor is a staggering 24MP, assisted by a 2MP sensor for Bokeh effect.

The Huawei Nova 3 features 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128 GB of storage, and we haven’t heard of any oher SKUs. The phone also packs a 3750 mAh battery, which along with Huawei’s AI processing, should result in a long lasting phone. The Huawei GPU Turbo Technology will also be supported right out of the box.

As for the Huawei Nova 3i, the phone has EXACTLY the same configurations, except for the chipset. The Huawei Nova 3i uses a slightly weaker Kirin 710, designed for mid-range phone for good performance and high battery life. There is also a 4 GB RAM version available for the Huawei Nova 3i.

Our Take

Both the Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i sound like a great deal. The inclusion of a slightly weaker chipset in Nova 3i should not make it any less of a choice. It is quite suitable for someone who is not a power user and wants a great media-centric phone. Even then so it will push through most tasks. We absolutely cannot wait for the launch!
