There have been several reports about Apple ’s plan to unveil three iPhones this year too. Leaks suggest that one will have a 5.8-inch OLED display, a larger model will have 6.5-inch OLED panel, and a relatively affordable variant will have 6.1-inch TFT LCD. One of them, which is expected to be iPhone X 2018, has been spotted on Geekbench. The smartphones will boot the latest iOS 12, which isn’t much of a surprise and are powered by D321AP processor based on ARM which Apple may rename it to A12 during final release.
A12’s Benchmarks :
Single core score of this new Apple ’s processor is 4673 which is higher than the previous generation A11 processor which has score of 4206 according to Geekbench. Whereas Multi core scores are not significantly different but will surely change after fewer optimizations during the final release. The biggest improvement in the new Apple A12 chipset is in the GPU. Its metal score is 21691 points compared to A11’s 15005 points. Furthermore, the L1 cache is now larger at 128KB and the base frequency is higher at 2.49GHz, compared to the A11 bionic’s 32KB and 2.39GHz respectively. Let me remind you that, here A12 is compared with the most powerful processor in the smartphone market right now. In conclusion, this new chipset looks very capable.
Further, the new iPhone X 2018 is spotted with 4GB RAM as compared to 3GB on the last year’s iPhone X. All the three smartphones Apple is likely to release this year are rumoured to feature faster LTE speeds, a TrueDepth camera system, slimmer bezels, and no Home button, as Apple is transitioning to an all Face ID lineup. The company is expected to launch the upcoming iPhones around its usual timeframe of September. I am really excited to see what Apple does with allegedly most powerful smartphone chipsets.
