Smartphone manufacturers are still in the race to take up as much space they can on the front of the mobiles as the screen and while many companies followed the footsteps of Essential Phone and iPhone X by housing a notch at the top of the display which contains selfie camera and sensors, at least two companies, both Chinese, prepare launches that seem to live up to the title of no borders.
The first is Vivo and its Vivo APEX, which was presented as a concept during MWC 2018 but was successful enough to win a commercial version, which will be announced on June 12. However, Lenovo was not behind and announced that the Lenovo Z5 will be unveiled for the first time in the world on June 5, just over a week earlier than originally planned. The invitations to launch were published in Chinese social network Weibo.
Falling in the line with the Lenovo Z5 images officially teased, so far show only half of the viewfinder, it is not possible to know where the front camera and sensors will be housed. The promise is that the new handset will offer has 95% of the front part occupied by the screen, a battery that can last up to 45 days with the phone in standby and up to 4TB of storage. So it will be interesting to see what Lenovo launches on June 5. Stay tuned!
