LG 8K OLED TV launched at IFA 2018 Berlin
Finally, the annual IFA 2018 event has started and the major companies are there with their new innovation and launches. Talking about the recent launch at the annual consumer trade show, the global leader LG is here with its new innovation with the OLED TV. Taking the lead at the event, LG introduced the world’s first 8K OLED TV, the 88-inch 8K LG OLED TV is powered by over 33 million of self-emitting pixels to reproduce an image with the high amount of contrast ratio and also retaining the feature of true black color.
Talking about the new 8K LG OLED TV, the 88-inch TV comes with a resolution of 7680×4320 pixels, which is basically 8K, and 33,177,600 pixels will produce the higher quality of output squeezed in 88-inch of space.
The technology has improved for sure, compared to the previously launched 4K TV which comes with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, which simply shows that 8K TV has around 4 times more pixels than that of a 4K TV. And also the OLED technology is already preferred over LCD technology, as the pixel in OLED panels produces their own light, whereas the LCD panels need a dedicated screen to produce light, hence, resulting in high power consumption and pseudo-black colors. Definitely, 8K OLED TV is the next big thing.
OLED TV shipments in the market expected to get double in 2018, and according to a report over 9 million units by the year 2022. According to the Korean tech giant, it will continue to increase its share in the premium OLED TV market, where the 8K OLED TV market expected to grow to more than 5 million units by the year 2022.
