In the world of smartphones, there is a lot of things that are continuously going on. We have already witnessed a huge revolution in smartphone design which was first introduced by the Chinses smartphone maker Vivo, which in 2018 introduced Vivo Nex with full view display with no bezel near the edge, no notch in display and the feature that attracted the attention was the pop-up camera. After that we have seen a lot of smartphones, like Oppo Find X, Honor Magic, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, adopting the same strategy to attain the full view display, that is, the movable camera module. Now, we all have eyes on the next big revolution for the best design, and according to the rumours, it could be the smartphones with the Under Display Camera, where there is no need of display notch to place the camera, no moving camera module, but a smart hiding of the front camera. And according to the reports, the Korean tech giant, LG has registered a patent for Under Display Camera design and surely working on Under Display Camera Smartphone.
We are not sure about the exact working of this new tech, but we can say it could be like the under-display fingerprint system which was showcased by Vivo in MWC 2018, and currently being used commercially in smartphones like Oneplus 6T, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and Vivo V11 series, where the fingerprint sensor sits beneath the OLED display. The Under Display Camera tech in a smartphone may work like that, but as mentioned above we are not sure at all.

Talking about the LG patent that appeared online, we can see an impression at the centre, which is definitely for the front camera, we are expecting an Under Display Camera tech here. You may think, it can be a simple notch to place the front camera with a notch, but we can’t see any kind of display cut here, which looks like a notch, but of LG is not working on the Under Display Camera, another possibility could a hole in the display for the camera placement.
The above image is the updated version of the patent, which was uploaded on the 24th of October, where, we can see the same camera hole at the right side of the screen. Again, we are only expecting it to be an under display camera design, but it could be a hole. Anything is possible, but these are only patents, and it is not for sure if LG is going to launch any product related to that. But for now, we all have eyes on the Samsung Foldable Smartphone.
