LG Unveils New Ultrawide Gaming Monitors at IFA 2018

While the IFA 2018 is officially to start from 31st August, all the companies have started to debut there new range of products, we have seen the Acer, well known for its gaming components showcased a bunch of products including the unusual gaming chair and the Windows mixed reality headset.

Now its time for another gaming panels manufacturer LG. The South Korean company has already showcased the LG G7 One and G7 Fit smartphones and New OLED TV with 8k resolution. Now the OEM revealed two new ultrawide Gaming laptops. The company has marked these monitors under a new branding dubbed UltraGear to offer better image quality with a higher refresh rate without compromising the performance.

Two monitors introduced by LG are 34GK950G and 34GK950F. Both the monitors come with the same form factor but differ in terms of a few things under the hood.

LG Monitor 34GK950G :

The LG Monitor 34GK950G is a 34-inch ultra wide Gaming Monitor with resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels and comes with a refresh rate of 100 Hz which can be overclocked to 120 Hz. The monitor comes with narrow bezels on all the four sides with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The monitor has a colour gamut of DCI-P3 98% but doesn’t have the support for the HDR. The monitor has a response time of 5ms and a maximum brightness of 400cd/m2 and is powered by the Nvidia’s G-Sync technology.

The most interesting part of the monitor is its RBG lighting which is surrounded on the rear side of the monitor in a sphere around its holding stand.

LG Monitor 34GK950F :

This is an another Ultra wide gaming monitor which comes with the same 34-inch display with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels packed inside a 21:9 aspect ratio.
The difference lies in terms of the refresh rate of the display, this one has 144 Hz of refresh rate and is also powered by different SoC the AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 and it does have support for HDR. Another thing to note is that the LG 34GK950F doesn’t feature an RBG lighting system on the rear side like the 34GK950G.

Talking about the ports, both the monitors with one DisplayPort 1.2, an HDMI 1.4 port, two USB 3.0 ports, a DC power input connector and also features a 3.5mm headphone jack. The monitors can be tilted and swivelled in different directions according to your needs.

However, the price of these LG UltraGear Gaming Monitors is not known, yet.
