Microsoft has announced visual search to many of its services. It is similar to the Google Lens announced last year in I/O.
With Microsoft Visual search users will be able to search the details of the image captured by them. The feature is currently live in the US for the users who use Bing App or Microsoft Launcher on either Android or iOS.The visual search power will also be available soon to the Microsoft Edge( for iOS) and Bing.com. However, for Microsoft Edge Android features have already begun to roll out.
The functionality of the visual feature is just similar to what we have seen on Google Lens. Users can directly capture an image in the mentioned Microsoft apps to find its details or just choose one from the pre-captured photos in the Gallery. For example, if you are out for dinner and take a photo of a restaurant, you may get the details of its dishes with rates, opening and closing time and even the reviews of it. Similarly, Clicking a picture of a plant will Give the details of its name, origin and medicinal benefits.
There are no limits to what it can do like it can be helpful while you are out for shopping. Just snap a photo of the product and get details of its pricing and which all sites sell it. So, the possibilities are endless. However, there are no Details when the feature will be rolled out Globally. But Google lens is already available in six countries, namely, India, US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Singapore, which is perfect in itself.
