Netflix show ‘Delhi Crime’ relives the horror experience of brutal Delhi gang rape of 2012. Richie Mehta as a director has done a fabulous job and showcased the police perspective of this appalling incident & their approach to apprehend the culprits.
The series does not showcase the heinous crime, but it shows the culprit Jai Singh (name changed), who is not ashamed of his deed and explains all his wrongdoings while raping Deepika (name changed) in a moving bus.
Shefali Shah as DCP South Vartika Chaturvedi is excellent in her character, and she brought out all the emotions beautifully onto the screen, as a police officer she is determined and strong but inside swayed away by the pain she felt for Deepika.
Rasika Duggal as Neeti Singh, a new IPS recruit, assist Vartika in solving this case and carry out her duties at the hospital with Deepika and her parents. Adil Hussain as Kumar Vijay and Rajesh Tailang as Bhupendra Singh both has done commendable job in this series.
The series displays the courage and commitment of Delhi Police and how effectively they resolved this case by arresting all the culprits in a short amount of time. It also showcases protests against Delhi Police and their failure in stopping these spine-chilling crimes in the capital of India.
Cinematography of the series is truly pinnacle in all aspects. The way this story is being told again by Richie Mehta reminds all of us to make the country a safe place for women, where they should not feel terrified walking alone on the street.
