There a number of smartphones that support HDR content on Netflix. Now as per Android Police the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL users are getting the HDR label Netflix HDR Support Seen on Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on Netflix for some movies and videos. However, the support for HDR on the Google pixel 3 and 3 XL is not listed on the official Netflix site.
Watching the content in HDR means a more dynamic range of color. Unlike the HDR on a smartphone camera that merges multiple images to create a better image. Netflix displays more dynamic color that means brighter whites and deeper darks.
The image above is the screenshot of a Pixel device having the HDR label on the Netflix App. All users of the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL haven’t received the support for HDR. It might be that the support is rolling out slowly.
To use Netflix in HDR some conditions that must be fulfilled are :
- Must have updated version of Netflix App. (above 5.0 version)
- At least 25 Mbps of internet speed.
- Streaming quality must be set to high in setting on the App.
- Must have a four-screen Plan.
