Netflix has given a green light that the popular series, Sacred Games will be back with a bang for the second season. After the cliffhanger end of the first season of Sacred Games, Netflix on Friday made an official announcement that the popular series will come back for a succeeding season. The series is based on Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name. According to the makers, Ganesh Gaitonde(Nawazuddin Siddiqui) will be back to retain his position while Sartaj Singh(Saif Ali Khan) will be trying to save the city.
In this season we will see Ganesh playing an overriding role. It will further dive into Ganesh exploring his relationship with his third father “Guruji” (Pankaj Tripathi). There is no word on when it will air. Most part of this season will be shot in India as well as various international locations. Some new faces shall be seen along with some old ones.
Masaan famed Neeraj Ghaywan joins as a director while Vikramaditya Motwane will continue to be the showrunner and Varun Grover is still the lead writer. Netflix’s VP of international originals Erik Barmack said in a statement: “We’ve been thrilled by the response to Sacred Games from fans worldwide, especially in India, to this high-quality production.
