Sacred Games is a forthcoming thriller series on Netflix, based on a book of the same title by Vikram Chandra, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Wait is going to get over soon for all those who are curiously waiting for this as Netflix has revealed the release date of the most awaited and the thrilling series, “Sacred Games” as 6th July, 2018.
The Teaser fantastically portrayed the heart of the series that how tangled, unveiled and restless the things are going to be. The deadliest games are the ones we don’t know we are playing. In the background of the teaser the game board showcasing the relation between the fire, diamond and the danger depicts that victory is not gonna be a piece of cake but yeah, a cookie to be achieved by sharp and concentrated mind. The story will draw audience deep into the life of Inspector Sartaj Singh portrayed by Saif Ali Khan, and the criminal mastermind, Ganesh Gaitonde characterized by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is a story of friendship and betrayal set in the backdrop of Mumbai city. According to Netflix, the series focuses on Sartaj Singh, a seasoned and contemptuous police officer, summoned by an anonymous tip one morning, a voice which promises him an opportunity to arrest the powerful Ganesh Gaitonde, criminal overlord of G-Company. In short, the series braids together a story about the lives of the privileged, the famous, the wretched, and the bloodthirsty amid the chaos of modern-day Mumbai.
Netflix’s Yardstick to compete with Amazon Prime.
The series will be a tough test for both Netflix and Saif Ali Khan as after the recent failures this is the only chance with which they can make a strong comeback. Netflix is already getting a tough fight from its rival Amazon Prime Videos who is currently few steps ahead with the release of R Madhavan starrer ‘Breathe’. It will be interesting to see how effectively they bring the acclaimed novel to life as up till now they have checked all the right boxes by getting a compelling cast and director.
