Recently, Nokia launched three budget centric smartphones, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 in Russia. These smartphones have now been listed on the company’s official India website, again. Previously, three phones were erroneously listed and removed from India website. The three devices feature considerable upgrades over their predecessors, both in terms of software and hardware.
Nokia 2.1 is a lower budget segment smartphone from the company. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The company says that it has got 50 percent performance gain over its predecessor. It features a 5.5-inch, 16:9, HD display and comes with dual front firing speakers which is something nice to have. The phone runs on Android Oreo Go edition. It is equipped with a 4000mAh battery which is expected to last upto 2 days of moderate usage. The phone will be available in Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver and Grey/Silver colour variants.
Successor of the most successful model in their line-up, Nokia 3.1 has a newer 18:9, 5.2-inch display with HD+ resolution and has Gorilla Glass protection over it. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P18 processor running on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. It comes in two storage variants – 2GB+16GB and 3GB+ 32GB and three colour options – Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome and White/Iron. The rear camera is 13MP main camera with auto-focus, while the front camera is 8MP. The phone is powered by 2990mAh battery.
The Nokia 5.1 has a stunning metallic design and has a satin finish and feel at the back back which makes it look quite premium for the price. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display in the 18:9 aspect ratio, compared to the 16:9 aspect ratio on the previous generation variant, Nokia 5. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P18 processor underneath, the company is claiming a 40 per cent faster performance compared to the previous generation. Talking about the camera, it has a 16MP rear sensor with PDAF and a 8MP front-facing camera. It packs a 2970mAh battery to power the phone. The phone comes in three colours variants: Copper, Tempered Blue and Black and has two storage variants: 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB.
Let me tell you that Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 are part of Google’s Android One program, meaning, they’ll receive fast and timely software updates. Nokia 5.1’s price in India would be around Rs 12,500, whereas Nokia 3.1 is expected to launch at price of around Rs. 10,000. Additionally, Nokia 2.1 would be launching at a price of around Rs. 8,000 in India. The prices are yet to be confirmed by the company. Sadly, the release date is not known till now but it is sure that the company will launch this new line too soon.
