Pokemon Go Alolan forms coming in the new update


Under the new update, Pokemon Go is going to include Alola Forms of Pokemon which was originally discovered in the Kanto Region. This news has been confirmed for the Niantic, developer of Pokemon GO game.

Not much information has been revealed about this update, but the news confirms that players will be able to capture Alola region Pokemon in the coming update for the game.

Developers from Niantic has shared an official message, which has been mentioned below


Sunny days are ahead! Whether your forecast calls for rain or shine, we’re celebrating all around the world by introducing some special Pokémon from the tropical Alola region to Pokémon GO. Get ready for some of the Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region to appear in their Alolan forms! These unique variants were first seen in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games, and they will make their way to Pokémon GO in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for news related to this exciting change—and don’t forget to tell your friends! Stay safe, and happy exploring!

Players who are not familiar with the Alola Form in Pokemon, actually Alolan forms are part of Generation 7 in the Sun and Moon games and are a regional variant of Pokemon with newly acquired typing in order to adapt with the environment.

You can see in the image below Alolan forms of few pokemon, like Vulpix changes from Fire-type to Ice Type in Alolan form, Sandshrew changes to Ice and Steel Type and Raichu Electric and Psychic.
