RealMe 2 Pro is in works!
Back in the month of May, this year had witnessed the Oppo all-new sub-brand RealMe which introduced some good specs under the price range of Rs.10,000 to give a tough competition to the already settled player in the field, Xiaomi, which is adroit at making budget smartphones. RealMe 1 was a great design smartphone with a decent design and good specs in the segment. Now the company has launched the next installment in the budget smartphone series, that is, RealMe 2, in an event in New Delhi, India. At the event, the CEO of RealMe, Levi Lee stated that RealMe has ‘One More Thing’ coming soon, and left the day at a cliffhanger, and it could be the premium version of RealMe 2, that is RealMe Pro.
Talking about the all-new RealMe 2, it comes with mainstream trend notch in the display housing the simple setup, that is, front camera, earpiece, and sensors. The front design is simple but the back of the design comes with an attractive design as we have seen in the RealMe 1 too, and the RealMe 2 comes in three colors, Diamond Black, Diamond Red and Diamond blue, where the blue and red color variants look really amazing.
The Realme 2 will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo, where the latest Android Pie to roll out soon on both the devices in the segment. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, which is comparatively lower if you go with the higher variant, where the processor is the same. For RAM in the device there will be two option, 3GB or 4GB RAM, same goes with the internal storage, where two options are 32GB and 64GB and it can be expanded with a microSD card (up to 256GB). Another notable feature is the big battery size in the new RealMe 2, for powering the device for a more than a day, a Li-ion battery with 4,230mAh is given.
Here, we can clearly see the processor of the RealMe 2 is not powerful enough to beat the competition, the higher variant which costs around the same as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, but taking performance as priority, Redmi Note 5 beats RealMe 2, though it has dual rear camera setup and more battery capacity. Now, if we consider Lee’s statement from the RealMe 2 event, which was “One More Thing”, we expect it to be RealMe 2 Pro edition, which will be coming with an improved processor, it can be Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, which is currently powering the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It can be a lot more than this, but the processor will be upgraded for sure.
The next version of RealMe 2 or the RealMe 2 Pro may launch in the month of September this year. Again we will say nothing is crystal clear about the statement, all of this is a prediction.
