Realme 2 to launch soon in India. Realme 3, 4 & 5 are also in Pipeline
Realme the sub-brand of Oppo has launched its first smartphone the realme 1 back in may this year which was a cheaper device with decent specifications. Around 40 lakh units of the smartphone were sold out within 40 days of the launch. Now the company has plans to launch the more devices ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20.000 by the end of 2018.
Realme 2 might be announced by the end of this month. The Chief Executive officer, Madhav Seth, Realme India said, the Realme 2 will be announced very soon at a price less than Rs 15,000 with tons of features that lacked in its successor the Realme 1. The Realme 3, realme 4, realme 5 are also in development as will be launched by May 2019.
He also added that the company wants to focus on the Indian market by providing the better features at a price which the “aam aadmi” (common man) man can afford.
He added ;
We constantly try to improve our product by incorporating features which our consumers demand from us. Feedback from our consumers is very critical for us and we take it very seriously. In our new line up of smartphones including Realme 2 consumers can look forward to Dual camera setup, fingerprint scanner, notch and few more features.
On the split of the company, Madhev comments that this was on papers for quite some time and the aim was to target the low-end mobile phone buyers by providing a better value for the money, which somewhere lacked by Oppo. He also mentioned that as an independent company it will be able to experiment a lot and will not have any burdens for the well-established brand Oppo.
But still, the company will use the customers care support and other services of Oppo as it is already widespread. Even for the manufacturing of the devices, the units of Oppo will be used. He said that BBK Electronics the investor in Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus and in Realme doesn’t interfere with day to day affairs of the company or product development cycle.
