Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 a few days back on its hometown china. The cornerstone of the smartphone is its 48Megapixel camera and the Snapdragon 660 processor and this comes at a very reasonable price. At the launch, the company forgot to mention that the phone is also kind of water resistant. Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun mentioned a few things about the build quality of the smartphone,
He says, the Redmi Note 7 designing team has put a lot of efforts to make a water resistant. All the weak point such as the SIM card tray, USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and the buttons can be found to have to water seals. The cameras module and the loudspeaker also have the membranes.
However, the Redmi Note 7 is IP certified but yes it can withstand some water spills. Xiaomi also announced that it extending the warranty of the phone from normal 12 months to 18 months in China.
