Resident Evil is one of the most popular zombie apocalypse movie series, which is based on the Resident Evil video game, started back in 2004 with the title “Resident Evil” and after which the German studio, Constantin Film has released a total of 6 movie titles in the franchise, last of which was “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”. The Resident Evil movie franchise is the highest-grossing film series, having grossed amount of over $1.2 billion on box-office worldwide. Not only this, Constantin Film has scheduled one more title to the Resident Evil movies, excited already? Well, there is one more news which will definitely excite you if you’ve been a Resident Evil fan. The stream service giant, Netflix in partnership with the Constantin Film is developing a Resident Evil Netflix original series.
According to Deadline.com the Netflix Resident Evil series is in early developing stages and will be expanding the Resident Evil universe by using the dark workings of Umbrella Corporation and T-Virus as a major ingredient, and not only this, the Netflix series is expected to deploy all the original Resident Evil’s signature elements.
As mentioned earlier, the 7th installment in the Resident Evil movie series, that is, Resident Evil: Reboot has not released yet, we are expecting the launch soon. And the Netflix Resident Evil series may go air after that only, which generates the possibility of connection of storyline of the Resident Evil: Reboot and its Netflix series, but, it is just a possibility, and Resident Evil Netflix series may launch with an independent storyline by only keeping the basic elements same.
