Netflix revealed the glimpses of its forthcoming thriller series, Sacred Games, based on a book of the same title by Vikram Chandra, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. The all-new show stars, Saif Ali Khan as a gun-toting police officer with blood splashed over his face, actress Radhika Apte with a bewildered look and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui staring at his reflection in the mirror with a disturbing smile but a sense of pride.
The images showcased by Netflix portrays the first look of the series, “Sacred Games” highlights different facets of the story. According to Netflix, the series focuses on Sartaj Singh, a seasoned and contemptuous police officer, summoned by an anonymous tip one morning, a voice which promises him an opportunity to arrest the powerful Ganesh Gaitonde, criminal overlord of G-Company. In short, the series braids together a story about the lives of the privileged, the famous, the wretched, and the bloodthirsty amid the chaos of modern-day Mumbai.
Speaking about the series, Anurag had told PTI, “Probably for the first time I’ll be reaching out to the most number of people in my entire career as a filmmaker. I have seen it (TV series) like I’m making a movie for the whole world. I welcome that pressure on me and I want to go with that.” The series is 8 episodes long and we can’t wait for Netflix to give us more details on the same.
With the first glance, the makers have tried to clue at the sentimental but a little-perplexed ride that the viewers will swing with the show. A thrilling series with an intriguing storyline. The release date has not been revealed yet.
