Samsung launched the Galaxy J8 today with a price tag of Rs 18990. The phone has an Infinity Display with a S-AMOLED panel. The phone is available for purchase today onwards with exciting cashback offers.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 Launch
Samsung announced the Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 at an event a month ago. While they launched the Galaxy J6 shortly, the Galaxy J8 was slated for a launch the subsequent month. And it’s finally here. It is Samsung’s latest entry into the lower-mid-tier section of Smartphones, which incidentally record the highest sales. The phone aims at providing a great Samsung experience without needing to shell out big bucks.
The Screen: Infinity Display
Talking about the screen, the Galaxy J8 features a 6-inch HD+ 18.5 aspect ratio Super AMOLED panel. This is probably the only phone in this range that has a Super AMOLED display (and good enough specs). The Infinity Display tag ensures that there are basically no side bezels as the screen curves and moulds into the side of the phone. The only issue we have with the phone is the low pixel density. But given that it is indeed a S-AMOLED display, the colours and the contrast are good enough to not mind the lack of clarity that much.
The Dual Cameras
The Galaxy J8 is also one of the cheapest entry by Samsung with a dual camera. The dual cameras (16MP+5MP) have a nice F1.7 aperture. Samsung added many bokeh effects like Live focus, Portrait Dolly etc. to the camera app to liven it up. The front camera is a sweet 16M with a vartiable LED flash. It also supports face unlock like most smartphones these days.
The Galaxy J8 Geeky Specs
The Galaxy J8 comes with Snapdragon 450, Qualcomm’s latest release, that promises huge gains in performance over its predecessor. The chipset accompanies a 4 GB RAM to ensure seamless multitasking. The 64 GB internal storage allows you to keep loads of files before running out. Also, the Galaxy comes right out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo. As a surprise, Samsung included a chat-over-video feature to allow you to send and receive messages without pausing your video.
The phone is clearly marked at people whose main goal is to consume media like YouTube and to connect socially and upload pictures. The price of Rs 18990 is fair enough for a phone with S-AMOLED display. Keep a watch out for the Samsung Galaxy J8!
