Sanju Teaser, Ranbir Kapoor Gets it all correct in Sanjay Dutt Biopic


The acclaimed director, Rajkumar Hirani who has given us timeless and thought-provoking movies like Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, and PK. Now, is back to the silver screen with the highly anticipated film based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt. The teaser trailer for the movie titled Sanju starring Ranbir Kapoor in titular role was revealed today. The teaser is spectacular, and the kudos to the makeup artists because from the first look Ranbir Kapoor does similar to Sanjay Dutt. The movie has been in production for quite long, and the wait is finally over as we will witness the comic drama on June 29.

The story revolves around the life of actor Sanjay Dutt who has seen it all in the lifespan of 58 years. He has been so notorious during his adulthood that he was involved in drugs which got him at the edge life. Apart from this, he has been involved in various other controversies, and on the other side, he has been a remarkable person who has done a lot for society by doing charity work. Being a son of superstar Sunil Dutt, he was born with a silver spoon but later in his life he has witnessed ups and downs where he had to beg for the bus ticket. His life inevitably makes an exciting story to be portrayed on the silver screen.

The trailer opens with a scene where we Sanju baba portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor is getting out of the jail, and then he takes us on a brief journey of his life in a sweet musical number. In various looks dawned by Ranbir Kapoor, he strikingly resembles Sanjay Dutt. With director, Rajkumar Hirani and versatile actor, Ranbir Kapoor at the forefront the film looks undoubtedly fresh and builds up the excitement to see the amazing story unfold on the 70mm screen.

During the teaser launch, while discussing the movie with Indian Express Rajkumari Hirani said “When we heard the story, we thought that a film needs to be made, and we asked Sanju that we are going to make this film, do you have the courage? the story which you are telling us if it is shown on the screen will it be alright with you?. Will you not have any problem and Sanju agreed.” Further, he mentioned that they have not glorified the Sanjay Dutt in Sanju.

It will be interesting to see how the director will bring the controversial parts of Sanju Baba’s life on the screen as many people have raised doubts that comedy will dial down the seriousness of the biopic which is filled with intense drama.
