HBO has released the trailer for their upcoming limited series Sharp Objects starring Amy Adams in the titular role. Based on the book of the same name by Gillian Flynn who’s earlier adaption of Gone Girl by David Fincher gave audience’s chills. The teaser trailer for the series was telecasted during the season 2 premiere of the WestWorld. The 8 episode limited series will be another horror-mystery from the Flynn.

The plot of the series will revolve around the journalist Camille Preaker portrayed by Amy Adams, who returns to her hometown to cover the murder of two preteen girls. While looking for the answers to the mysterious death, she finds herself getting entangled too tightly with the victims. The book stayed as a New York Bestseller for more than 70 weeks and won two Britain’s Dagger Awards.

The trailer gives a glimpse of haunting series that stays true to the compelling source material by Gillian Flynn. The Sharp Objects teaser trailer has disturbing imagery coupled with the captivating background score that slowly sucks you into the story. The hopes from the limited series are high because of the stellar cast and riveting source material. Noxon, Flynn, Vallée, and Adams served as the executive producer for the Sharp Objects alongside Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum, Charles Layton, and Jessica Rhoades. Apart from five-time Academy award nominee, Amy Adams, the series stars Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins and Matt Craven. Vallée known for Big Little Lies will be at the helm of the series Sharp Objects alongside Flynn and Noxon serving as the series showrunner.

HBO hasn’t revealed the exact premiere date for the series however it will premiere sometime during the month of July. As per our view, Sharp Objects will take the timeslot left vacant after the Westworld season 2.
