After a long wait, Sony has finally allowed the players from PlayStation and X-Box/Nintendo Switch to play cross-platform
Previously, the players who owned a PlayStation were locked out to play cross-platform with other systems including Xbox One and Nintendo Switch
The controversy got all flared up when Fortnite launched the game for the Nintendo Switch.
Just a day before the commencement of Fortnite Season 6, it has been released as a very big news for all the PS4 and Xbox One players
On a whole, it is really great to see both Sony and Epic Games stepping forward and taking the stance which allowed the players now to play cross-platform.
With this positive collaboration between Sony and Epic Games, we also might see the titles which works with Sony like Call of Duty and Rocket league might also be available for crossplay
Fortnite allows cross play for PlayStation Xbox One
Sony has also released an official statement on this account,
The first step will be an open beta beginning today for Fortnite that will allow for cross-platform gameplay, progression and commerce across PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Mac operating systems. We see the beta as an opportunity to conduct thorough testing that ensures cross-platform play is best on PlayStation while being mindful of the user experience from both a technical and social perspective.”
