Sony Xperia XZ2 shows on Twitter, Specifications & Release Date

Ahead of MWC 2018, Sony has been really active in the mobile segment industry. Back in 2017, they have released the flagship series of Sony which includes XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. Both of these device are flawless, but was certainly lagging in three respective areas. The phones does not have the new frame-less OLED display, dual camera support, which is available in the phones of other premium brands. Apart from this, both of these devices has been running on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo. Today company new mobile Sony Xperia XZ2 has been showcased on an Ireland Twitter account.

One of the popular Irish telecom operator Three Ireland Care has announced the new Sony Xperia XZ2 and has confirmed that the device will be launching soon. The exact launch date of the device has not been clear on the twitter post by Three Ireland Care. But rumors are suggesting that the phone will be launched on the conference day of MWC 2018 on February 25. The event will start from February 26 and will end on 1st March.

Sony is not the likes of Huawei who like to hold events for it’s official announcement and launch of the phones. The company believes in exhibitions for the launch of it’s phones like Samsung and LG. The information that has been aired by the Irish company has been removed currently on the request of the Sony, which suggests that the company does not want general public to know about the launch date of the device

In terms of specifications, Sony Xperia XZ2 comes pretty solid, the device features frame-less OLED display and the screen size of the device is 5.5″. The resolution of the device is 2880 x 1440 pixels ( Quad High Definition). The device is powered with 2.8 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It has Adreno 630 graphic unit which capable of any high graphic demanding games. It is supported by 4GB of ram and 64 GB/128GB of internal storage. The port for charging the device is latest USB-C type and has latest Wi-Fi 802.11 ac module. It has a latest Bluetooth Technology 5.0 for fast transfer of images and data files, GLONASS and NFC support. It also features IP 68 certification giving it protection from dust and water.

The device has been priced around $699, which approximately sums up to Rs 45,435 in the India.
