Why Spider-Man Homecoming 2 Title Is Far From Home (Explained)

Spider-Man Far from home

Thanks to Tom Holland – Fans now know the title of his next stand-alone Spider-Man movie, and that is – Spider-Man: Far from Home. With the title out, fans have already started speculating about the plot of the film which fits the title.

We’ve previously heard about the movie being filmed in various European cities – including London, Venice, and Prague – and also with rumours about the movie’s plot involving a school field trip or exchange program. This fits in with the title of the film, but with Spider-Man dying on an alien planet, how’s the future of Spidey bright?

Spider-Man Far from home

Spider-Man took onto the alien ship with his mentor Tony Stark. Literally, he’s far away from home, and with his death there, it’s sure that he will be revived, but even if he’s resurrected, how’s Peter going to come back to earth. Earlier, the producer Amy Pascal has said that Spider-Man: Far From Home picks up “just a few minutes” after the end of Avengers 4. It indicates that the film will be answering these questions as well.

When Kevin Feige confirmed about the film’s title, he said “[It’s] similar [to Spider-Man: Homecoming]. I won’t say what the meanings are, but we enjoy that title because, like Homecoming, it is full of alternate meaning. And we liked continuing the ‘Home’ thing, with the little Spidey symbol in the ‘Home.'” His words and producer Amy’s words put together may have a reference to Spidey stuck on an alien planet and returning from there will be a big task because it’s almost certain that the events of Far from Home will take place in Europe. While “Far From Home” might mean that Spidey will still be stuck somewhere out in space when his second solo movie begins, it’s doubtful that Far From Home will be a direct sequel (storyline-wise) to Infinity War. Kevin Feige has said that “the two Avengers films that precede [Far From Home] will greatly inform, probably even more so, the next movie,” but only in the same way that Spider-Man: Homecoming was informed by Captain America: Civil War.

Just as Peter overcame with him being the Spider-Man, he had to fight alongside Iron Man in Civil War in Germany, now him being stuck on an alien planet and then returning to the school, he would find it hard to take learning basic electronic circuits seriously.

What do you guys think of the title? Does it have alternate meanings other than this? Do let us know in the comment section below!
