Tencent and PUBG Corp is hosting a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds tournament for its mobile version.
The tournament has been named as PUBG Mobile Star Challenge. The tournament is an international event representing seven different regions of the world. The regions which will be participating in this tournament includes Europe, North America, South America, Korea, China & other Asian countries. In the tournament $600,000 will be awarded as the pool prize.
The format of the tournament require to make a squad of four players, where one squad memebr should have 1K fans or followers across the specific streaming platforms.
The squads will first have to face off each other in the regional competition. The Top 20 Squad from each region will be moved to the qualifier round of the event and then proceed to the final stages of the event.
The event has been sponsored by Galaxy Note 9 and the finals of the event will take place in Dubai. The tournament will feature celebrities, professional players and popular streamers.
The first stage of the tournament will be setup in the European Region final taking place in Kiev from September 29-30.
PUBG Mobile Star Challenge has come in a troublesome situation as the company has seen a loss of value drop by $20 Billion, as the Chinese laws are restricting Tencent from monetizing PUGB mobile.

- Second : $ 100,000
- Third : $ 50,000
- Regional champion: $ 20,000
- Second : $ 15,000
- Third : 10,000 dollars
The recent success of Fortnite Skirmish Series might have pushed Tencent to organise big PUBG events.
