Tesla Motors organized an event in California and unveiled the Tesla Semi truck. The event was dedicated to the Tesla Semi, but Elon Musk kept his promise and surprised everyone with a new generation Roadster. The new 4-seater vehicle will be a big hit to the gasoline powered super cars. Elon also described it as a “smackdown” to the fossil fuel-addicted auto industry. Talking more about the new Tesla’s 2nd Generation Roadster. Musk boasted the roadster to be the fastest production car ever made. Musk’s introduction to the new roadster, remind the fans of the 2008 Tesla roadster. Talking about the design of new concept, it looks like it has combination of all major super players in the market. “The point of doing this is to give a hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars,” Musk said. The new roadster is a 4-seater vehicle, and by the glance of design of new concept you might think, how it can be a 4-seater vehicle. But owner of projects like Space X, Hyperloop created the new concept, so anything can possible. Roof of the car can be adjusted to make space for two more passenger, the adjustments are made, like we have seen in Tesla Model 3, which is a 7-seater vehicle.
Musk unveiled the new wheels by saying, the return of the roadster. And claimed a number of features based on the performance. The new roadster have the capabilities to cover zero to 60 in just 1.9 seconds, which is pretty fast, and will a record, by a production vehicle to break the threshold of 2 seconds. It can cover, zero to 100mph (*160kmph) in 4.2 seconds only. And will cover a quarter mile by taking 8.9 seconds. The vehicle is all wheel drive with three motors, two in rear and one in front. Musk didn’t confirm the top speed but, said it is more than 250mph (*402kmph), where the Koenigsegg Agera Rs currently holds the world record at 277.9 mph (* 447kmph). And most importantly the electric roadster is powered by the battery capacity of 200kwh, which covers distance of more than 1,000 kms.
