HBO revealed the trailer for Westworld Season 2 during the Superbowl, making it quite a big deal. This spot would have cost HBO a fortune. However, we still haven’t got the exact premiere date for season 2. HBO is trying its best to push it as a replacement for its most popular series Game of Thrones. Westworld will air in April which was earlier the month in which we used to get the Game of Thrones and with only one left that will air 2019 HBO has made a good move.
Jonathan Nolan & Lisa Joy created series is a loose adoption of the highly acclaimed novel by Michael Crichton of the same name. The story takes place in the western-themed park filled with high-end androids and rich shell out money to bring their fantasies to life. The first season provided the series with a strong base where we were introduced to the essential characters. It highlighted many points to ponder upon like what makes us a Human is the conscience only difference between us and androids.
Westworld season 2 will pick up from the point where season 1 ended when AI in the park took the matters in its hand with the help of Robert Ford portrayed by Anthony Hopkins. The ten-episode season one left you with so many answered questions and a confusing timeline. Most of which will be explained in the coming season. As the AI is slowly approaching towards the full conscience, the 2nd season will be no less than an action-thriller that can give you goosebumps any given moment.
The trailer began on the soothing note where we see imagery of calm and serene world where everyone lives happily. Then as the music picks up the pace, we observe that artificial intelligence inside the park is all ready for the rebellion against the human race. It depicts nicely how AI will not stop till it has the world on its own without any intervention. The narration in the background updates us of upcoming horror as it focuses that this world is a lie and it deserves to die because it is the world of humans. And from the ashes of this world, AI will build their world. Each word in the trailer adds to the horror and thrill which we will witness soon.
Another highlight is the background music by Ramin Djawadi who has done some exemplary work to create this masterpiece of a trailer. Each note perfectly matches the scene on the screen which adds more character to it.
Season one of the series received mixed reviews in the beginning however as the audience watched it more carefully, each episode just made the story more realistic and entertaining. With power-packed season 2 who knows it may soon become popular among the mainstream audience and a day may arrive when it takes over Game of Thrones.
