Zee5 Releases Rangbaaz Trailer-Another Crime-Thriller Set In North India

Zee5 Rangbaaz Trailer Saqib Saleem

Netflix’s Sacred Games success has been so impactful that it has opened the floodgates for original digital content. Even big actors are making there way to these platforms and are giving their best to woo the audience. Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur was such an example of that impact and the creators of the series understood what audience likes and gave a series set in the backdrop of UP. But things are turning sour now as other digital content providers are just copying this formula and packaging it in different to fool the Indian audience. The fresh example of that is Zee5’s upcoming series Rangbaaz.

Today, Zee5 unveiled the trailer for their highly anticipated series Rangbaaz that set in the backdrop of rugged North India. The series stars Saqib Saleem in the lead role of Shiv Prakash Shukla who was once an India’s biggest gangster. He is joined by the stellar cast that includes also stars Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ranvir Shorey, Aahana Kumraand Ravi Kishan.

Rangbaaz Trailer

The story of Rangbaaz will revolve around the character of Shiv Prakash Shukla who at the age of 25 was accused of 20 murders and had a dream of ruling the underworld. In one and half minute trailer we see too much blood and guns going boom. We want to be very much excited about the series but the plot has too much similarity to other popular series and currently I assume the market of showing gangster stories has somewhat saturated. In the last two years there have been almost dozen of movies and series that have depicted North India the region full of crime where everyone just spits out curse words and for no reason keeps firing their gun.

We know that we are getting little harsh but we expect something unique and noteworthy to make us binge watch these series. We are surely excited to see Tigmanshu Dhulia’s portrayal in the series other than that Saqib Saleem also seems little miscast going by the trailer. We might be proven wrong when the series comes out but right now for us, it’s just another crime thriller trying to cash in on the success of Sacred Games and Mirzapur.
